About Me
Hi there! I’m Natasha Mashembo, a journalism student at the University of Portsmouth (originally from a small, occasionally lively town in deepest, darkest Cornwall).
I live by the theory that every moment is a story waiting to be told, which is partly what inspired me to go into journalism. As well as this, I’ve always longed to inspire people to think differently about the world.
The title of this blog, Think It Over, comes from the fact that I am an overthinker. This is both a blessing and a curse, but I find that it helps me to consider all angles of a story.
My dream job would be anything which allows me to speak with interesting, inspirational people. I think you can learn a lot about a person based on who they would choose to meet if they could. Five people I would love to meet are Kate Bush, Lana Del Rey, Noel Fielding, Richard Ayoade and Colin Firth.

Colin Firth is a long-time favourite celebrity of mine, and I may or may not own a necklace with his face on it...
Despite still being in my teenage years, it would appear that I have reached middle-age in spirit. On a Saturday night, you can either find me watching films with my blanket and hot water bottle, or having an 80s disco party in my room (depending on my energy level).
Music always brightens my mood on a stressful day, especially ABBA. I used to be a keyboard player in a band, and whilst it was technically a “funk band”, we still managed to sneak some ABBA into our setlist (we did a pretty decent version of Gimme Gimme Gimme, if I don’t say so myself).
Please subscribe if you wish to receive email updates about my posts, which cover a variety of topics, such as student life, culture and current affairs. Some posts are written as part of my degree and others exist simply because I want them to!
